Music for the next generation

Brain Power 4-CD set - School Library Journal 03/08:
This series was created by Dutch composer Raimond Lap to expose babies from birth to 36 months to the "most elementary characteristics of music: melody, harmony and rhythm" in order to provide them with a learning advantage when they are older. These CDs offer 43 original instrumental compositions. The soothing pieces feature a variety of musical styles and elements, accompanied by an assortment of baby sounds, such as cooing and babbling, as well as sounds from nature. This collection would be a fine addition for public libraries, especially those that circulate other titles in the Lovely Baby collection.
